I didn’t really have room to point this out, but these are just the movies I’m really looking forward to. I ran out of room, but there are a few others on my list, most noteably “Knight and Day” with Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz, “The Expendables”, which features more testicle-mass per minute of running time than any other movie in history, and “Splice,” which I’m looking forward to seeing despite the fact that I know next to nothing about it.
Also, oddly enough, I’ll be keeping a spot on my calendar open for “Killers” with Ashton Kucher and Blonde Girl Du Jour, if only because the trailer was so well made. Seriously–that is a freaktacular trailer. If you haven’t seen it, do yourself a favor.
I’m weighing whether or not to post a review of “Kick-Ass” as this Friday’s strip. While I enjoyed the flick immensely–as most people seem to–I’m just finding it hard to riff on the piece. That happens sometimes; considering the movie’s purpose is to riff on the superhero film, it seems kind of redundant to poke fun at it. Plus, it’s a solid piece of moviemaking, and all credit in the world to Matthew Vaughn for making a wholly unbelievable action movie entirely believeable. It’s a tight rope act, and he pulled it off magnificently.
Anyhow, have a good Monday. Try not to let the bastards get you down.
Luke
