I have a problem, and perhaps you, the readers, can help me out.
The weekend is again upon us, and I’m not sure what to see for Monday’s strip. We’re past the Christmas movie season, and summer’s still five months away, so we’re left with “The Spy Next Door”, in which Jackie Chan fails to recreate the magic of Hulk Hogan’s “Mr. Nanny”. Other choices include “The Book of Eli” which holds very little interest for me, and “The Lovely Bones,” in which the director of Lord of the Rings does a quiet little movie about rape.
Guhhhh…any thoughts, gentle readers?
As for the strip this week…well, you’ll forgive me, but I just love how this one turned out.
Slowly but surely I’m getting a better handle on how to write Joe. Like many (bad) writers, I tend to think of all my characters as being different parts of myself. That makes it a little rough when I myself turn up on the page. I mean, what do I say? I’ve already given all my lunacy to Mel, all my pathos to Bronson, all my sarcasm to Dean, and all my insecurity to Zara.
So, it’s been nice for Joe to have Mittens to hang out with. He needs a good role model, which, you know, Mittens clearly is.
Have a great weekend, and keep staying warm!
Luke
