Hola! And welcome to Wednesday. I don’t know about you, but today is the first of the 13 Christmas parties I’m blessed to be able to participate in. As we speak, I’m hulking up, slapping myself in the face, working myself into a jolly-holiday-lovin’ frenzy. We’re putting our head down and we’re muscling our way through, by God. Let’s do this thing.
So, another installment of Mel and Zara’s call-in show. Andrea and I initially conceived Sexual Hangups as a quick-and-easy, no-frills, done-in-an-hour type affair for those weeks when we were running behind. How little we knew then. These actually wind up being some of the hardest pieces to write, with this script going through at least a half-dozen rewrites. While they do assemble fairly quickly, the hard part then becomes doing a lot of heavy lifting with nothing more than facial expressions. I think Andrea did yeoman’s work in that regard.
