Happy New Year, and welcome back! We’re starting things off with our review of Guy Ritchie’s Sherlock Holmes, which Andrea and I found entirely enjoyable and eminently rewatchable. Despite a few audible thuds in the dialog, the banter between Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law made this picture what it is. Well worth an afternoon.
Hope Christmas treated everyone well (or at least gently). For our part, we were both sick as dogs, so we got a little leeway for not being up for EVERY party. (As a result, I do regret not seeing my cousin Nick’s new house, but I would assume he’s fine with the arrangement, since he didn’t have to chase after us all night with a Lysol bottle, dousing us with Purell like a priest at an exorcism.)
So, I’m still off work for four more days, three of which we have houseguests for New Years. Good times had by all. So, I’m off to continue enjoying Assassin’s Creed II (which, contrary to the reviews, really doesn’t have as solid a story as the first one, but the game play is so much improved that I’m perfectly happy to forgive that).
See you Wednesday!
Luke
